We had soccer playoffs all last week. Tyler's team, the Vogelweh Panthers, fought their way to the 11-12 year old championship game and WON! It was a tough game, probably the toughest they had all year, but pulled out the 3-2 win in the end. It was tied with just a few minutes left. I've decided that it's probably much easier to be the kid playing than the parent watching. I was a wound up bundle of nerves! He had a fun season, learned a lot from 2 fantastic coaches and is looking forward to baseball in the spring. I am looking forward to Laura's Taxi Service closing down for a few weeks, until Meghan's Basketball cheerleading season starts in December. Wait, she's starting Art Club after school. Tyler is going to join a science club after school. CRAP. It never ends....Oh well. At least those are after school and we can stop paying the Burger King workers paychecks as most of those don't interfere with dinnertime. I need to find some more great Crock pot recipes. We can only have BBQ pulled pork so often (their favorite) before they all start rebeling.
This picture was taken right after they won. They were all pretty pumped up.
This week is going to be pretty full. Tomorrow I get to take my car in to be fixed. It's making a "noise." The place on base was able to get the part though, saving us a trip to a garage off base. Trying to fix an American car in Germany can be not so much of a good time. We have friends coming down from England for the week, looking forward to visiting with them and their girls. I am watching Makayla most of the week. Mellie gets to go to the vet to get her shots. That should be a fun car ride...and of course Friday is Halloween. Meghan the "Cheerless Cheerleader" and Tyler the "Scream character with blood running down the face" (how else do I put that?) will be joining the throngs of other American kids who flood the bases and beg for candy. Tyler has decided that it is his last year dressing up (I swear I didn't put him up to that) so he is going for the gold as far as candy consumption goes. His theory for next year he can walk around with Meghan while she trick or treats, then she can give him half of her candy. She quickly vetoed that idea. Verrrrrrrry quickly. We just laughed. Have to give the kid credit for creativity...and for trying.
